Our primary venues this year are all located in Granville,
OH. Granville is a quaint, New England-style community
located in Licking County (east central Ohio) and
is the home of Denison University. The Village has
a permanent population of 3200 and a total population
of 5100 when the college students are included. The
town is quite famous for it’s old fashioned
theme, and people regularly come to visit from all
over the world. It is also centered in some of the
most beautiful country in Ohio, surrounded by thousands
of acres of rolling hills, trees, and traditional
farmland. New Englanders from Granville, Massachusetts
and Granby, Connecticut founded Granville in 1805.
It has retained its small town charm and is characterized
by quaint, locally owned retail shops, historic homes
and churches, tree-lined boulevards, and stately buildings
located on College Hill.
The park that we have chosen to hold our event, Infirmary
Mound Park, is an amazingly gorgeous facility.
Named for the prehistoric “Infirmary Mound”
located on the grounds, the 326 acre park continues
to be a family favorite. Visitors can enjoy picnics,
fishing, hiking, horseback riding or a game of pick-up
baseball. What caught our eye when choosing the park
is the closed off facility that they have designed
for horse events and dog shows. There is a section
of the park that is gated off most of the time, but
can be rented and accessed by anyone that is attending
the event. This area in itself is about 40 acres in
size, and contains two horse arenas, spacious areas
to park or track the dogs, and many trails to walk
dogs or ride horses. The Dressage arena is a magnificently
kept fenced in flat area, with beautiful short grass
that is always maintained in the best of condition.
There are bathroom facilities available for both men
and women, but no running water other than the well
and pump located immediately outside the restrooms.
We hope you enjoy your stay here and we wish all
competitors the best of luck!! Please use the contact
page for any questions or suggestions you may have.
