General Information
- The decision of the judge is final. No appeals are possible.
- All breed tests are automatically rescinded after reaching the maximum
breeding age, 10 years of age for dogs and 9 years of age for bitches.
Owners may apply for an extension to be granted by the USRC Breed and
BST Committee.
- FCI
Standard #147/19.06.2000 will be used for judging USRC breed tests.
- The judge must positively identify all dogs during the test by the
dog's tattoo or microchip. If the dog is microchiped, the handler must
supply a working scanner for the chip to be read. If the chip cannot
be read for any reason and the dog is not tattooed the test may not
continue. Entry fees will not be refunded and the dog may re-enter another
breed test at any time.
- If any of the required titles or show ratings are earned after the
close of entries, these documents must be presented to the breed test
secretary, prior to the start of the test. Should any of the prerequisites
not be fulfilled or if any paperwork is incomplete or unavailable prior
to the start of the test, the dog will not perform the test and entry
fees will not be refunded. The dog may retest.
- Breed test critiques are not official until checked, recorded and
signed by the Head Breed Warden and/or the Administrator of Records.
The original critique will be forwarded to the dog's owner after it
has been approved.
- Dogs with Restricted USRC registrations or AKC Limited Registrations
may not enter a USRC breed test. Dogs that are deemed not breedable
at a USRC breed test are ineligible for breeding under USRC rules.
- Results of all USRC recognized Breed Tests (ADRK, Austria, Switzerland
and USRC) will be recognized by USRC for breeding purposes. Dogs held
back at a USRC recognized breed test may retest after the period of
time indicated by the judge on the breed test. Dogs deemed not breedable
in a USRC Recognized Breed Test are ineligible for breeding under USRC
rules and may not enter a USRC breed tests.
- Dogs born in countries where docking is forbidden by law, shall be
shown with the tail left in its natural state. If a dog is presented
who's tail has been cut in violation of these rules, the dog shall not

Breed Test Results
BST-
A dog can be deemed breedable, held back for a period of time specified
by the judge or can be deemed not breedable. If a dog is held back, 2
more attempts may be made after the period of time indicated by the judge.
If the dog does not pass the BST on the 3rd attempt the dog will be deemed
not breedable. If a dog is deemed not breedable no further attempts are
allowed.
ABST-
A dog may pass, may be held back for a period of time specified by the
judge or can fail. If a dog is held back one more attempt may be made
after the period of time indicated by the judge.
LBST-
A dog may pass, may be held back for a period of time specified by the
judge or can fail. If a dog is held back on an LBST, one more attempt
may be made within 2 years of the first attempt.
Missing Teeth
BST-
If a dog has a missing tooth or teeth caused by an accident the owner
may apply for permission from the USRC Breed Committee to enter a USRC
BST. There must be irrefutable proof by x-ray, show critiques, written
statements and otherwise that the dog had full dentition prior to the
accident. The USRC Breed committee will review all the evidence and make
a decision. Approval by the Breed Committee only allows the dog to enter
a BST; the judge may still deem the dog not breedable. Decisions by the
breed committee or the judge will be final, without explanation. No appeals
are allowed.
ABST/LBST-
Dogs may enter an ABST or LBST in spite of lost teeth provided copies
of the dog's BST or Ztp and 3 show critiques from adult classes showing
complete dentition are submitted with the entry and the original documentation
is presented on the day of the test.
